Maribel was born together with her brothers in Virginia However, details of their childhood are not available, was raised by parents and grandparents. As a child Maribel was interested in becoming an attorney and pursued her career in the field of law. After graduating in high school she was accepted in the University of Virginia where she studied for a degree in Foreign Policy with a minor in German. Thomas Jefferson, an author of the Declaration of Independence, founded the institution in 1819. The university has expanded to offer more than a hundred courses, centered around the location of Jefferson's Academical Village which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. About 1,600 acres of land are dedicated to the main university, and many more are devoted to its research park, as well as the university's farm.
